THE LANGUAGE OF PRINTMAKING

Some printmaking terms are fairly universal (for instance, a matrix is the object from which a print is made, be it litho-stone, woodblock, screen, metal intaglio plate, etc) but since we are dealing with language, meanings can be fluid, so the definition I give applies to me, my art, and my studio practice, and therefore may differ slightly or drastically from other sources.
