Framed vs Unmounted Explained
When deciding whether to purchase your art framed or not, this is what you should consider:
I use high quality materials. The mat board and backing will be acid-free, so they will not brown with age or stain the art. I use ultra-violet resistant acrylic, instead of glass. If for some reason, the frame ever falls, the chance of acrylic shattering and damaging the art is significantly less than with glass. The molding I use is made from poplar, which is a beautiful, strong wood that has a subtle grain, and ranges in color from pale gray-green to pale brown. There may be slight impurities or knots, which I think only adds to the beauty of the wood.
The mat and molding will be neutral in color and cut simply, but elegantly. It is my belief that a frame should emphasize the art, as opposed to what surrounds the art. However, if you would like to discuss other options, or have something specific in mind, you can email me at maureen@maureenmoll.com.
One final note: I will include hanging hardware if you opt to have me frame your new art, but I do not install it unless requested, because I feel it heightens the risk of damage in shipping.
Shipping and Handling
I use FedEx. The cost of shipping is included in the price. I will provide a tracking number once the item is sent out for shipping. If you are having me frame your work, that will add processing time because I purchase the molding, treat it, and cut the matting to order. Generally, you should receive your art within 10-14 business days.
I take great care in packing the work for shipping, but if for some reason it should arrive damaged, please contact me at maureen@maureenmoll.com.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy your new purchase!
